Polyp Trap

A single-use suction-line trap with four chambers that catches polyps and biopsy fragments.

This page is intended for healthcare professionals.

Polyp Trap

An in-line specimen trap that captures small polyps and biopsy fragments aspirated through the endoscope's suction channel.

In which cases?

  • Small polyps taken with a cold snare or biopsy forceps and aspirated out through the scope.
  • A screening colonoscopy where several segments are sampled in one procedure.
  • A case where each specimen has to stay identified by location for the pathology report.

What makes it different?

  • Four separate chambers, so specimens from different segments do not mix in the line.
  • Sits in line between the scope suction port and the pump, with tubing ready in the pack.
  • Closable and labelled for transport, so the sample reaches pathology identified.
  • Open suction areas beside the chambers, so the line keeps flowing while several specimens come through.
