A rapid in-vitro diagnostic test that detects Helicobacter pylori urease activity in gastric biopsy specimens during endoscopy.

In which cases?

Dyspepsia, gastritis or peptic ulcer disease worked up at gastroscopy.
A biopsy taken to decide on eradication therapy before the patient leaves the unit.
A follow-up gastroscopy after eradication therapy, to see whether the reaction has gone.

What makes it different?

Reads out within minutes, so eradication can be discussed in the same visit.
Colour change read by eye, so no reader or analyser is needed in the room.
Uses the biopsy specimen already taken, so there is no extra pass with the forceps.
