UROMED filling medium for inflating the balloons of urological silicone balloon catheters: a 10% water-based glycerin solution, latex-free, in which the filling volume holds.
In which cases?
Filling the balloon of a silicone nephrostomy or suprapubic catheter.
Small filling volumes, where a slowly deflating balloon would move the catheter.
What makes it different?
Silicone lets water diffuse out; the glycerin reduces that diffusion, so the volume holds.
Latex free, in 5 ml and 10 ml sterile units, matched to the balloon.
