Bronchoscopy is a method used in the diagnosis of lower respiratory tract and lung diseases. With bronchoscopy, pathological findings within the airways can be observed directly or indirectly, and samples can be taken from diseased areas for various examinations.
With the Endobronchial Ultrasonography (EBUS) method, many conditions such as enlarged lymph nodes or tumors adjacent to the bronchi and located outside the bronchial wall—which cannot be diagnosed by standard bronchoscopy—can be easily accessed under direct visualization, and appropriate samples for diagnosis can be obtained.
EBUS needle types are compatible with Olympus, Fujifilm, and Pentax EBUS bronchoscopes. The system is equipped with a Twist-Lock System for secure needle fixation and features an ergonomic one-hand operation principle that allows easy adjustment of needle length. The needle has a sharp 15-degree bevel and is made of stainless steel. Thanks to its sharp bevel angle, effective sampling from multiple locations is possible. The system operates with a Luer-lock–secured Nitinol stylet. The system includes a VacLok™ aspiration syringe (filling volume 5–20 ml).
The needle diameter is 22 gauge / 0.75 mm, and the needle length is 0–4 cm. The working channel length ranges from 69 to 73 cm, with a channel diameter of 1.8 mm. The minimum required working channel diameter is 2 mm.
The EBUS ultrasound needle system is used by leading chest disease hospitals such as Yedikule Chest Diseases Hospital, Süreyyapaşa Chest Diseases Hospital, and Kartal Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Training and Research Hospital.
